How many sessions will I need?
Counselling does take time and commitment. It is very individual and the number of sessions needed will depend on you and the issues you wish to focus on. We will review your counselling regularly and you can choose to end at any point.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes, as a member of BACP I work within strict confidentiality guidelines. There are rare exceptions where confidentiality may be breached for example if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or to someone else. These exceptions and how we work with them will be discussed in your first session.
How long is a session?
Sessions last a maximum of one hour. They are usually weekly at the same time each week. However, I can be flexible so this can be discussed and we can reach an agreement that works for us both.
How much does it cost?
My fees for individual therapy are £40 for a one hour session payable at each session. I do have some concessions available.
My fees for couples counselling are £45 per session.
My fees for group therapy are £90 per 90 minute session.
Where do sessions take place?
I have a dedicated counselling room that is separate from my house. It is nice and private and free from interruptions. (see the pictures on the contact page)
Hopefully this will have answered some of your questions. If you have any more please do contact me to discuss these.
